GX-TXT Curve Digitalizer: From Botanical Micrographs to Morphometric Analysis with Python

How can a botanical micrograph be transformed into quantitative data for morphometric analysis? In this article, we use **GX-TXT Curve Digitalizer** to calibrate an optical microscopy image, digitize leaf stomatal contours, and publish their coordinates as a scientific dataset. Using the framework’s integrated Python editor and public APIs, we reconstruct the outlines with periodic cubic splines and calculate areas, perimeters, and morphometric parameters, while preserving data traceability and distinguishing the original measurements from subsequent numerical processing.
